The short answer

OurFamilyWizard (OFW) is a strong tool for high-conflict separations: timestamped messages, expense tracking, payments and records you can hand to a court. It is also paid by each parent separately – from $110 a year for the Basic plan up to $299.88 a year for Max, so a family typically pays $220–600 a year.

MamaPapaWeek does one thing: the custody schedule. Pick your rotation, see who has the children today, when the next handover is, and share the calendar with the other parent – who can view it without an account or a subscription.

OurFamilyWizard vs MamaPapaWeek

OurFamilyWizard prices and features as listed on its official pricing page on 2 October 2026; OFW also offers fee waivers and a military discount. MamaPapaWeek extras that are not part of this comparison: packing lists for handovers, yearly balance of days per parent, printable A4 calendars, Google/Apple Calendar subscription and 21 languages.

When to stay with OurFamilyWizard

Be honest with yourself about what you need. Stay with OFW (or a similar tool like TalkingParents) if:

Many families use both: a communication tool for the hard conversations and a simple shared calendar that both parents and grandparents can actually read.

Switching takes two minutes

  1. Open MamaPapaWeek and choose your rotation (for example alternating weeks or 2-2-5-5).
  2. Tap the day of the next handover and who has the children now.
  3. Save the calendar and send the link to the other parent – or print the year as a PDF for the fridge.

FAQ

Is MamaPapaWeek really free?

Yes. Creating a schedule, sharing it, printing it and adding it to your phone's calendar is free. The optional Standard plan (€19 a year per family) adds editing by the second parent, change history and up to five calendars.

Does the other parent need an account?

No. Anyone with the link can view the schedule. An account is only needed for the person who saves and edits it.

Can I use MamaPapaWeek as evidence in court?

It is not designed for that. It shows an agreed schedule, but it does not keep tamper-proof records of messages or changes. If you need court-ready documentation, a tool like OurFamilyWizard is the better choice.

Does it work on iPhone?

Yes, in the browser, and the schedule can be added to Apple Calendar. An Android app is on its way to Google Play.
